Pinhawk SL Single Length Irons

Several times a year I get questions regarding single length irons. I've heard of them but didn't have a supplier for such a design...until now.

THE COMPANIES QUICK OVERVIEW: Imagine playing a round of golf with one iron, one swing, and being able to control your distance. Now you can, with the Pinhawk SL single-length irons!

What is the difference between a “regular” iron set and a set of single length irons? Well, traditional iron lengths vary between clubs; usually ½” from 1 iron to the next. The Pinhawk SL single length iron heads are designed to be built the same length through the 5-PW set allowing the golfer to use the same swing, on the same plane, for each iron.

Former Professional Golfer Moe Norman was a serious advocate of constant length irons. Sam Snead called Moe the “greatest striker of the ball”. Tiger Woods once told Golf Digest that only 2 people “owned” their swing: Ben Hogan and Moe Norman.

The Pinhawk SL component iron heads have the latest forgiving, game improvement design, extreme perimeter weighting, and a true deep undercut. Despite having a game improvement design, these have a manageable sole width, and low offset (3 mm) on all 6 irons.

Lofts gaps are larger than traditional iron heads, to maintain a proper distance gap between clubs. You will find that distances will be very similar to a “conventional” set of irons.

The weight of each iron head is 265 grams, which is the typical weight of a 6 iron head. These are meant to be built at 6 iron length (typically 37½ “), but the lengths can be modified to suit the individual golfer. You’ll note in the specs that the bounce is 3 degrees on each head, the lie is a constant 62.5 degrees, and the offset is a low 3mm on each head. These are truly uniform iron heads.

The heads are made from 431 Stainless and can be bent for lie adjustments up to 2 degrees.

Also available is the Pinhawk 20* hybrid with the same weight as the iron heads to be built to the same length as the irons. $84 with steel shaft and $94 with graphite shaft.

Better golf is just a fit away.

Email me at bobsailergolf@shaw.ca and request "golf info" in the subject line and I will return your email with interesting golf links regarding what you should know before investing in golf clubs. Ask Yourself: Are all golfers the same size, the same strength, posess the same athletic ability, or have the same swing speed and tempo? If you have ever observed golfers on a driving range, you know the answer is NO! Because we are all unique regarding our size, strength, athletic ability and swing characteristics, preassembled clubs built to one standard set of specifications (regarding length, lie, loft, total weight, swing weight/MOI, wood face angle, shaft flex, shaft weight, shaft bend profile, grip size, set make-up, etc) will very likely not allow you to play your best golf. You see, in other sports where we hit a ball with a stick, like tennis or baseball, only 1 stick is needed. Therefore, it is very easy and an absolute must for these manufacturers to cutomize these sticks to the different size, strength, and athletic abilities of their consumers. Because you need 14 sticks in golf, they can't be offered in a vast selection of different lengths, lies, weights, shafts, grip sizes, etc, because the mass production assembly line couldn't handle these demands, not to mention the huge inventory needed and resulting inventory nightmare for the store selling them, and the knowledgeable staff needed to properly fit and build them from scratch for each individual customer. BEFORE you get misled by a $50 million per year marketing campaign, allow me to give you a free, 15 minute, no obligation, clubfitting demonstration before you decide where to buy...at the very least you will learn a few things.
